Applications are invited for the following ICSSR’s Doctoral Fellowship Schemes for the Financial Year 2026-27:
(i) Full-Term Doctoral Fellowship Scheme (Centrally Administered)
(ii) Short-Term Doctoral Fellowship Scheme
(iii) Contingency Grant Scheme
Applicants are required to read the guidelines carefully before submitting their online application forms. A scholar can apply for only one of the fellowship schemes in a Financial Year. Applicants are also advised to apply well before the last date in order to avoid last moment rush. The applications can be filled either in English or in Hindi (Arial/Mangal Unicode font will be used in Devanagari script to fill application form in Hindi). The links for detailed guidelines for applying along with requisite formats are provided on the web page.
The affiliating institutions and supervisors shall forward applications of only those candidates who fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria as per the norms defined in column 2.1 to 2.6 of the detailed guidelines of the ICSSR fellowship schemes after proper verification and certification of details from original documents. Incomplete applications/ applications without forwarding letter by affiliating institutions, where the candidates are registered under PhD programme, shall be summarily rejected.
The applicants applying for Doctoral Fellowship Scheme through ICSSR Research Institutes will apply through the ICSSR website in online mode and select the ICSSR Research Institute through which their application is routed in the online application form. The applications must be forwarded by the respective ICSSR Research Institutes.
