The State Bank of India (SBI) has released the recruitment notification for Junior Associates (Customer Support & Sales) in the clerical cadre.

Details of the Recruitment

Eligibility: Candidates must have a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government. Candidates in the final year/semester of graduation can also apply provisionally, provided they produce proof of passing graduation by December 31, 2026. Candidates applying for a particular State/UT must be proficient in the specified local language.

Age Limit: Candidates must be between 20 and 28 years of age as of 01-04-2026. This means those born between 02-04-1998 and 01-04-2006 are eligible. Age relaxation for SC/ST-5 years, OBC-3 years, PwBD and other categories receive relaxation as specified in the notification.

The total starting emoluments for a clerical cadre employee in a metro such as Mumbai are approximately Rs.46,000 per month, including applicable DA and other allowances.

Selection Process:

The selection process consists of three stages. Candidates are selected based on the Preliminary Exam, Main Exam, and a Local Language Proficiency Test.

Preliminary Examination

  • English Language - 30 questions, 30 marks
  • Numerical Ability - 35 questions, 35 marks
  • Reasoning Ability - 35 questions, 35 marks
  • Total: 100 marks, 1 hour
  • Negative marking: 1/4 mark for each wrong answer.

Main Examination

  • General/Financial Awareness - 50 questions, 50 marks
  • General English - 40 questions, 40 marks
  • Quantitative Aptitude - 50 questions, 50 marks
  • Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude - 50 questions, 60 marks
  • Total: 190 questions, 200 marks, 2 hours 40 minutes
  • Negative marking applies.
  • Local Language Proficiency Test

Candidates who have not studied the specified local language in Class 10 or 12 must qualify in the language test before joining. Preliminary exam marks will not be considered for the final merit list; the Main Examination marks will be considered.

  • Applications must be submitted online.
  • Application Fee: Rs.750 for General/OBC/EWS candidates; no fee for SC/ST/PwD/Ex-servicemen candidates.
